Low Cost Routing

The introduction of competition to British Telecom in the 1980s brought about a series of government regulations allowing the competitive carriers to take advantage of the fact that BT owned every telephone line in the UK. The regulation stated that BT should pass calls to and from customer’s premises on behalf of competitive carriers for a small cost. This would allow competitors to set up their own network and be able to carry calls from any telephone line nation-wide and deliver the calls to any telephone line either nation or worldwide. The first such competitor was Mercury.

The same basic principal applies today to the routing of calls to a competitive network, i.e. by using a network access code; however this is now entirely automated and transparent to the user. The methods can be summarised into three areas: by having the local BT exchange route the calls automatically (Carrier Pre Selection), use of an indirect routing box, or by programming the user's telephone system or all of these options allow the benefits of routing calls via K10:

 Features & Benefits
Significant savings on local, national, international and mobile telephone calls:
customers can expect to save anywhere between 10-60% over their current BT bills. The exact savings depends on call spread between the different tariffs.

Choice of K10 tariffs: K10 is now capable of offering choice and flexibility when it comes to tariffs. A number of base rates are available on demand, as well as a number of discounts, including international and mobile discounts. For heavily called destinations we can even provide a bespoke tariff and extra discount for Inter-Site traffic should you have more than one location.

Full call auditing and call management reporting: a monthly report that details a customer's usage. It details the average outgoing call profiles (i.e. how many calls are made during each hour of the day).

Seamless connection to advanced networks around the world: Through k10's many partnerships we are able to route customer’s calls to some of the most up-to-date, fastest and most reliable networks throughout Europe and the World. Partners include Thus, Energis, WorldCom and of course, BT.

Flexible billing options/fully itemised billing: The K10’s bill contains four sections: a summary of charges and VAT, a breakdown of charges for the various tariffs, a report on the top 30 most expensive calls for the month and an itemised destination report. Additionally Web-Billing provides infinite options for customer's bill analysis.

Reliability backed by K10’s Customer Services Team: K10 has staff on hand to answer calls should problems arise and have engineers on standby at all times should it be necessary.

No need to change existing telephone numbers: customers maintain their existing BT telephone lines and so have no need to change any telephone numbers.
